02 May - To Thunder Bay

We had a good day today. We mostly drove through northern Ontario forest and scrub meeting with very infrequent traffic (mostly semis). We anticipated uneventful driving so had downloaded a number of audible books  which we've really enjoyed. It definitely passes the time and given how "serious" we are, they give opportunity for learning as well.

Our first stop was a Winnie the Poo themed children's park. Our grandchildren, both in Canada and Kenya are always top of mind so when we saw this park we knew we had to stop and check it out (with a camera). It was cold and windy so we didn't stay long.

We came across this beautiful water falls so stopped to enjoy make our hot drinks -- Masala tea for Dave and coffee for Mary Lou -- and take in the beauty of fast moving water going downhill.

Our iOverlander site was a Rest Stop right time zone change to Central Standard. The weather prediction was for a cold night -- below zero -- and we had been seeing ice on the water along the road, so we were grateful we had carried with us toques and layers for warmth.

We also discovered a few days before we departed Kitchener that we can remote start out Sienna using the key FOB. Who knew?? This was a great feature to have in the middle of the night when we needed that bit of extra warm up.
