19 May - Tofino

It rained all day today. Duh! This is Vancouver Island, what do you expect?? Yes, when we checked the weather for this Island it said it would rain 14 days out of the month of May, so there is a 50% chance it will rain every day.

Besides the rain, it was kinda cool -- hovered between 9-11 C all day and night.

The drive to Tofino was fantastic -- winding roads, beautiful scenery -- and it rained off and on....mostly on. But we enjoyed the drive.

We arrived at our campsite which we had booked in advance. We paid money for the 4 nights but this is nice. Far more beautiful, thoughtful, well constructed than any camp we've ever stayed in.

The washroom facilities scattered here and there are plumbed, built with concrete and have wall mount Toto toilets! (if you've never researched toilets (I have...I own rental property) then you may not know that the Toto toilet has a rotary flush -- the water comes in through two ports in the bowel, horizontally). This was the last toilet I installed (floor mount) a few months ago and I'm very pleased.
The washroom and shower is the building on the right....even as a Renai tankless water heater!

The beach is amazing. The tides are beautiful. The waves are large and worthy of surfing (for some people younger than I and wearing wet suits!).

We discovered several other locations which we visited but determined that we weren't going to stay there at the moment because of the cold and the rain. Stay tuned!
